A customer asked me to put pictures here to show how I take the vacuum advance units apart and re-assemble so here it is:

The split ring and clamp to hold during disassembly.

Four punches with ends shaped to points are used to roll the assembly lip open(with taps from hammer) ( from very pointed tips down to 90 degree end angle.)

Replaced vacum diaphram ready for re-assembly.

The flange is hammered flat.

The assemble flange is re set with three punches with varing angles: steep, medium, and flat.

All done!
